My mom named me after her father, Robert Sydney Null. My full name is Robert Phillip Odle. My friends call me Bob.

I was born on February 18, 1961 in Oceanside, California (North San Diego County). I attended grade school through my first year of college in San Marcos, California, six miles inland from my place of birth.

I transferred to Lubbock Christian College (now University) and graduated in 1983. I then attended Law School at Texas Tech University (also in Lubbock) and graduated in 1986 as a Doctor of Jurisprudence (academic euphemism for an ambulance chaser). I am licensed to practice law in California, Colorado, and Texas.

After several years of practicing law, I entered the ministry full-time. We served as missionaries in Cuernavaca, Mexico; I preached for the Woodland Oaks Church of Christ in The Woodlands, Texas; and I currently preach for the Three Chopt Church of Christ.

Along the way preaching for the last several years, I have earned a Master’s Degree as well as a Doctor of Ministry Degree, both from Abilene Christian University.

I am happily married to Teri Dawn Thomas Odle and have been since August 9, 1986. Together we have four boys: Austin, Jett, Micah, and Elijah. We all live in Richmond, Virginia.

When I am not studying, I love to ride motorcycles, make stuff out of wood, hunt, fish, and be outdoors.

Nerd…just kidding dad. I never realized you had a blog page. It’s pretty cool actually. Looks like your making an attempt at coming into the technological age. Good job. Love you. Jett

I came across your blog through your Amazon page – after reading a review you gave on Richard Hays’ book on the Faith of Jesus.

I’m a huge fan of Hays (especially his book on the Moral Vision of the NT as well as The Art of Reading Scripture) – and have a close friend who just finished a degree at Duke Grad school and took Hays for several courses.

And, I’m avid N.T. Wright reader, who also has similar perspectives to Hays.

Also, I am an evangelist in a church of Christ in Birmingham, AL (Cahaba Heights church).

If I’m ever in Richmond (sometimes we drive through there visiting relatives in DC), we should get together at a Starbucks.

    All the best.

Surprised by my contact I suppose, but
not half as surprised as I was to know you are in Richmond, Virginia.
We miss our dear friends, but know you are doing wonderful work.
Love and blessings to all the Odle’s!
    Don’t forget the phone.

    Love, Lost friends in Durango

I was pleased to visit your well developed blog and to get in closer contact with you. You and Teri and the boys are precious and most special to me. We are across the continent from each other but I feel our closeness in my affection and regard for your dear ones.

I love church planting and equipping the saints. Bob and I spoke together at SIBI, I also have developed a 90 minutes and In Christ evangelistic progran that have aided many many precious souls to obey the gospel.

In fact we had four baptisms in the last eight days.

    Let’s grow and plant.
