My brother and I started riding motorcycles when we were very young. We were racing them (motocross) when I was still in elementary school. My brother would eventually go on to race motocross professionally. My dad, James Benson Odle, was hit by a car on his motorcycle in March of 1975. He was a parapalegic from that day until his death in June of 1998.

For many years after dad’s wreck, I did not go near a motorcycle. A few years ago I bought one (a Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe) and I am once again hooked. There is nothing on earth quite like taking a curve on a bike, with some good music goin’ on, with the love of your life holdin your waist, God’s glorious creation all around, and the world on hold. This is as good as it gets (I think).
